I love Easter, I love getting to dress my kiddos up cute and let them hunt for prizes. I also love the food and good company of family and friends. But every year I try to take the time to remember why we are celebrating Easter. I think people often get caught up in the traditions and the fun and games of holidays and forget the purpose, which is to remember something very important.
Christ death and resurrection to save us from our sins, this is the reason we celebrate Easter. I received and email recently outlining in great detail the suffering Christ went through for us, it was so heart wrenching that I could not help but be overcome by emotion. I think it is so important for us to remember the suffering and ridicule that He went through so that we could be saved. It helps us to realize how much he loves us, to be tortured and crucified, there truly is no greater love.
This year we spent Easter at a family friends as we have many times in the past. The kids had a wonderful time and I truly enjoyed spending time with friends and family. The weather was great and of course candy and easter eggs were in abundance :).

They were so excited to get so many eggs.

Bubby finding eggs, he didn't quite understand at first, but he caught on fast!
She was an expert egg hunter by this year and had a blast running around and loading up her basket.
